Keep That Bad Habits Away And Be Prevented From Gum Infection
Simple symptoms of gum disease if ignored can progress to serious dental condition such as periodontal disease or gum infection. Proper and good oral hygiene plays a vital role in having a good oral care. Plaque is the primary cause of gum infection. Food particles that left inside the mouth especially between the teeth and the gumline can form into plaque and will produce toxins and acids that can irritate the gums resulting to inflammation and gum infection. However, proper oral hygiene that includes regular brushing and flossing may not be effective unless bad habits such as smoking, excessive alcohol intake, tooth grinding and poor eating habits area avoided.
The risk of gum disease increases when such bad habits are not avoided. Excessive alcohol intake can greatly contribute to saliva production and dry mouth. As you know, saliva is the mouth’s natural defense against bacteria thus preventing gum infection. Gum infection prevention does not only include proper oral hygiene, bad habits should be avoided and proper diet should be practice. And don’t forget also to see your dental hygienist periodically to be updated with your dental condition and unrecognizable symptoms of gum infection can be prevented early.
